Paladin Learning Support

Where it all comes together.

Paladin Academy clinics provide a unique and supportive environment for students with learning challenges such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and mild attention deficit disorders. The Paladin Academy clinic approach uses a multi-sensory, individualized program to build a solid foundation of educational strategies for students to use in the classroom.

The Paladin Academy clinical model includes an initial evaluation, development of an Individual Program Plan (IPP), structured assessment, and ongoing communication with parents. The evaluation process begins with a review of existing student data; interviews with parents, the child and current or past teachers; review of academic records; and classroom observations, if possible. Once a student is admitted, the Paladin Academy clinician develops an IPP to address the specific educational needs of the student. The IPP includes a student profile, annual goals, short-term objectives and assessment criteria. The student's Paladin Academy clinician is responsible for implementation of the IPP and coordinates the learning activities with other teachers, counselors and parents.

The student's progress is assessed through formative assessment on a daily basis. Summative and more formal assessment of the student's progress happens twice a year: at admission or the beginning of the program to establish baseline data and at the conclusion of the program to assess student progress. Assessment activities include formal review of student work, standardized tests, and observations by teachers. Parents are an integral part of the Paladin Academy clinic program and help create and implement the IPP. Parents are kept informed on a weekly basis on their child’s progress.

Your child can experience the Paladin program in our day school program during the academic year, after school clinics or our 6-week summer camp program. Please contact our Admissions Coordinator for more details.
